The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) published their Annual Report on the demographics of Homebuyers in 2019 and as it does every year, one statistic stood out to me: “Seventy-five percent of buyers interviewed only one real estate agent during their home search.” Read that again, “Seventy-five percent of buyers interviewed only one real estate agent during their home search.” Now couple that statistic with this one: “Forty-one percent of buyers used an agent that was referred to them by a friend, neighbor, or relative and 12 percent used an agent that they had worked with in the past to buy or sell a home.”
As agents, we have all kinds of designations to define us and help the consumer sort through the “who’s who” of Real Estate in their market: REALTOR®, Broker, GRI, CCIM, AHWD, ePro, EcoBroker, CRS, ABR, SRS, PSA… the list just keeps going. But really, what do all of those letters mean? How can a home seller or home buyer sort through those designations to determine the value of each credential in their particular situation?
I understand why forty-one percent of Buyers use an agent that was referred to them by a friend, neighbor, or relative. We all value the personal experience and trust conveyed by a friend, neighbor or relative to guide us in our agent finding decision-making process; and it means a lot more to us than a series of letters after a name.
In my business, I am driven by one concept first – there is an agent for every client and a client for every agent; your referral is my life both in my business and personally. My business is built on the support of happy past and current clients who tell their friends they would be crazy to use anyone else. It is my highest honor to validate and replicate that personal story your friend told you about how their agent, Erin Mandeville Strand, was truly their best advocate through the transaction and that they want the same experience for you.
Are you wondering what might be possible for you today? Let’s explore this market together! And hey, maybe you might even be able to sort through the value of some of those designations!
Erin Mandeville Strand,
Supervising Broker, GRI, EcoBroker, AHWD…
